NICRODUR 500 Sheet and Plates are specially alloyed, quenched, and tempered wear-resistant steels with a nominal hardness of 500 HBW. The typical chemical makeup includes Carbon (0.25–0.30%), Manganese (up to 1.50%), Chromium (0.80–1.50%), along with Nickel, Molybdenum, and trace amounts of Silicon. These elements work together to provide outstanding hardness, toughness, and high impact resistance. The mechanical properties boast a tensile strength of around 1,600 MPa and a yield strength exceeding 1,200 MPa. Despite their high hardness, the plates maintain good formability and weldability, making them suitable for demanding applications in abrasive environments.
