Brinar 500 Wear-Resistant Steel is made from high-quality carbon steel, carefully mixed with controlled amounts of manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and other alloying elements to boost hardness and toughness. The steel goes through a water-quenching and tempering process to achieve a surface hardness of 480 Brinell. It showcases excellent wear resistance, impact toughness, and weldability. You can cold work the material by bending or roll bending, and hot work it within a temperature range of 850–1000°C, followed by hardening and tempering. Thermal cutting and welding are feasible with the right preheating for plates thicker than 10mm.
